Maya Berens (they/them), has a keen interest in the environment and society, having obtained their BA in geography with a geospatial certificate from the University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire in 2024. They have conducted both lab and field research related to how people impact–and are impacted by–the world around them; as a result, Maya has become heavily involved in the discussion of how geography can benefit the wellbeing of individuals. They hope to continue their career path providing assistance and care to a greater community, with an awareness of the environmental, societal, and human factors that make us who we are.

In their free time, Maya enjoys reading, crocheting, hiking, creating stories, making art, and playing with their family cats.
