Heather Waller (she/her), BS, is an experienced mental health provider with 19 years of dedicated service in community-based and clinical support settings. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Art Therapy, with minors in Art and Psychology, from Edgewood University and is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Art Therapy and Counseling.
Heather serves as a Service Facilitator within Comprehensive Community Services (CCS) and as an Array Provider, supporting individuals in coordinating person-centered care plans, accessing community resources, and progressing toward individualized recovery goals. She brings nearly two decades of experience providing Mental Health Skill Building and Skill Training services across diverse environments, including home-based, community-based, and structured settings.
Her clinical focus includes working with individuals who have experienced trauma, individuals diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder, and neurodivergent individuals, including those with ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder. Heather integrates a strengths-based, person-centered, and trauma-informed approach in her work, emphasizing empowerment, collaboration, and sustainable growth. She is trained in Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), incorporating evidence-based strategies to support emotional regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, distress tolerance, and behavioral stability.
Heather also incorporates art-based mental health skill building interventions into her practice, offering creative and experiential methods that parallel the principles of Art Therapy. Through psychoeducation and practical skill development, she equips individuals with tools to better understand their mental health, increase self-awareness, and navigate both mental health and substance use challenges effectively.
She is committed to ethical, collaborative care and to fostering inclusive environments where individuals feel respected, understood, and supported. Heather actively engages with community resources and interdisciplinary providers to strengthen support systems and promote long-term stability and recovery.
Outside of her professional work, Heather enjoys creating art, writing, playing musical instruments, spending time outdoors, and practicing mindfulness and meditation. She shares her home with her Great Pyrenees, Ellie; her Pomsky puppy, Chewie (currently training to become a therapy dog); and her cat, Sven.
